Friday sermon is a formal speech delivered during the act of worship by Muslims held before prayer. It weekly event that involves disseminating information as well persuading congregation through preaching and teaching. To get insights into how metadiscursive contribute theme sermon, current study aimed examine distribution frequency in three themes (belief, practice, spiritual) Islamic Sermon (IFS) English. aim this study, Hyland’s (2005) interpersonal model metadiscourse was adapted analyse were deployed thirty sermons (10 per theme) between 2012 2018. The findings reveal dominant presence practice/action theme. This indicates vital role features nature teaching method.
